Fraud
Fitness Fraud is a
unique perspective into uncovering how consumers get ripped off
and are led to believe nearly anything. Fifteen respected authors
in the industry got together to demonstrate how you get tricked
into believing and buying garbage, with chapters by Matt Brzycki,
Brian D. Johnston, Arthur Jones, Dr. Robert Kudlak, Kevin Fontaine
Ph.D., Stuart McRobert, Dave Smith Ph.D., Richard A. Winett Ph.D.,
and others.
Train
Like a Champ to be a Champ?
That's what the muscle
magazines want you to think; and they want to set you up for failure
and for good reason... so that you can keep on buying those "magical"
supplements, 'guaranteed' to make you a he-man!
Athletes
Know How to Exercise & Train?
Not quite; they know
how to take orders from their coaches, and will succeed in spite
of their training, all because of good genetics, motivation to
do well, and drugs... lots and lots of drugs.
The
(dis)Honesty of Companies
It is not unusual for
a company to create its own spin on bogus products that it sells.
And so, when they go public about how they no longer will be offering
product 'x', they are seen as honest and ethical. Now you can
read about one of these instances and with one of the largest
supplement companies ever!
Persuasions
in the Fitness Industry
There is a fine art
in convincing people to buy, and the fitness industry is no exception.
Advertisers know how to communicate, to use certain phrases (to
protect themselves legally), how to attract certain audiences,
using emotions to make bigger sales, etc. Gyms are experts at
this as they employ tactics such as 'the tour,' 'penalty pricing,'
the 'Ben Franklin,' the 'drop,' and the 'T.O.' Reading how some
of this is down may protect you from future scams.
The
USDA Pyramid Scheme
One of the biggest
outrages is the 'Food Pyramid/Guide,' so design to help sell products
that we produce in over-abundance, yet the same foods that are
not ideal for human consumption, including cow's milk, and wheat
products. Want proof? Read Fitness Fraud and compare basic human
physiological needs to the propaganda of the Food Pyramid.

"Fitness Fraud
was an eye opener. It really enlghtened me on how to determine
what training methods, diets, or exericse equipment may
just be fads or effective marketing ploys. Within possibly
a multi-billion dollar industry, there are many people who
are going to be in the spotlight for their famous routine,
diet strategy, or exercise equipment for a very brief period.
They make their money, consumers get frustrated or perhaps
get temporary results, and the cycle starts all over.
Fitness Fraud is
a must buy if you want to achieve health and fitness results
without wasting a lot of hard earned money and valuable
time. It supports critical thinking, provides sound advice,
and gave direction within my healthy lifestyle. In order
to achieve and maintain my best fitness level possible,
I need the truth, not the hype!
